Patel said a win in the Barras’ last game could propel them into second spot or even top of the ladder.  “The Barramundis’ performances of late in the SACA league have been very encouraging in the development of young players, senior players consistently performing and most importantly getting a number of wins, “ said Patel. “I can honestly say the Barramundis have improved from their performances in Ireland. We have been more competitive and have earned the respect of the teams and officials in the SACA League this year,” said Patel.He gave an example of left arm quick bowler, Nosiana Pokana who is the leading wicket-taker in the competition with 14 scalps.“It is also great to see the experienced players in Assad Vala and Vani Vagi Morea in the top run scorers in the tournament as well. I’m also pleased to see players like Hiri Hiri make matching winning centuries,” said Patel. The Barras will take on the Southern Force in a 2 day match. This is their final match of the SACA Premier League.The Barras return to Port Moresby on October 12th.last_img
