Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner, tonight, became the eighth batman and second overseas player after Chris Gayle to go past 3000 runs in the Indian Premier League. Warner achieved the feat in the course of SRH’s home game against Delhi Daredevils. He slammed a quickfire 46 off 30 balls but in a losing cause as Sunrisers suffered a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Daredevils. However, he failed to hit the highs that were expected of him during Australia’s dismal World T20 campaign.Skipper Steve Smith’s decision to push Warner down the order from his usual opening slot, surprised many observers.But the 29-year-old found form in the IPL and has turned out to be an inspiring captain. Sunrisers Hyderabad have been in brilliant form this year and are currently top of the points table.
